“Alternate shot” is a golf competition format in which two golfers play as partners, playing only one golf ball, taking turns playing the strokes. In other words, the two golfers alternate taking shots. Alternate shot is commonly known as foursomes and can be played as stroke play or match play.

This program is an instructional golf program for youth ages 6 to 18 years of age. This program will cover Golf Swing Instruction, Golf Etiquette, Rules of Golf, Healthily Habits, and Life Skills. Every week we will have a different Etiquette, Rule, Healthy Habit, and Life Skill for the youth to learn. Every week the youth will be tested through fun and educational challenges to help improve their ability to golf. Here at Peninsula we would like every youth golfer to leave this program with the ability to enjoy the game of golf for generations to come. Peninsula Golf Course staff and many Volunteers will be here to assist the youth in learning these important aspects of the game of golf. The Youth will be tested and asked to complete written weekly assignments. We thank you for your interest and participation in this new program.
